Baking became a hobby when I began making my daughters' birthday cakes at home. Eventually, people told me that I was good enough to sell my products so I began selling from my own house in Wilson. Everything I know is self taught. Selling from home was great for a while, but eventually I felt like I had to expand. When I opened the bakery in Rocky Mount, it was very hard. Being a small business in a town that I knew nothing about made it difficult. Perseverance and the love and help of my family pushed me through and got me to where I am.
